Cadbury Chocolate Harder to Melt

Cadbury bar

Found this story rather interesting. Won’t apply to us here in the USA (AZ could be a candidate tho) since it’s an Eastern Asia product,  but shows how candy science marches on!

No Goo-Goo Shortages!

No Goo-Goo shortage at my house!

Yes, I’m pleased to report that there will be no shortages of G00-Goo Clusters in the Parker housefold for the near future. A generous client found out that an acquaintance had an “in” with the Nashville candy manufacturer so she arranged for these samples to be sent to me. So, to her I say “thanks” [...]

Weiner Candy Out Yet?

I figured it would be just a matter of time till some candy maker jumped on the Weiner bandwagon, so to speak. So far I have found this:

Weiner apology, Twitter this, Weiner jokes, New York weiners

Teeny Weenies don't get Twittered

Air-filled Chocolates the New Taste Treat?

aerated chocolate, Hershey's kisses, Father's Day gifts, French chocolate, teenage candy favorite

Light as a kiss

Here’s an interesting development in the candy world: aerated chocolates. Now, I remember eating candy bars in France many years ago that had an unaccustomed texture tho I liked it. Well, now I know what it was, and so does Hershey’s. Here’s what their official release says:

“Hershey’s has recently debuted a new riff on its chocolate bars and kisses: aerated chocolate. “Your taste buds have never experienced chocolate bubbles like these,” claims Hershey’s.”

Some cynics have already voiced their opinions regarding the selling of air for profit and I see their point, but the real issue is, will people like it? Remains to be seen tho I confess I certainly will give it a try and see if it brings back memories of those French moments of enjoyable candy eating.

Cadbury Creates Controversial Chocolate

Cadbury released a new bar with a campaign nod to model Naomi Campbell… however she was not amused and in fact, reacted insulted, calling the ad racist. According to the story in Huffington Post: The advertisement read, “Move over Naomi, there’s a new diva in town,” with an image of the candy posed on a [...]

My Tip For Melting Chocolate

Breaking up bulk chocolate can be a pain and time consuming, even with a good tool (see photo below). A better way to deal with chocolate that needs to be melted is to get it in pastilles form – small, thin “buttons” of chocolate, milk or dark, which melt quickly and evenly, regardless of your [...]
