Cadbury Chocolate Harder to Melt

Cadbury bar

Found this story rather interesting. Won’t apply to us here in the USA (AZ could be a candidate tho) since it’s an Eastern Asia product,  but shows how candy science marches on!

No Goo-Goo Shortages!

No Goo-Goo shortage at my house!

Yes, I’m pleased to report that there will be no shortages of G00-Goo Clusters in the Parker housefold for the near future. A generous client found out that an acquaintance had an “in” with the Nashville candy manufacturer so she arranged for these samples to be sent to me. So, to her I say “thanks” [...]

“Hot Chocolate” has new meaning!

Photo: Joseph Erdos. This calls for a taste test… serve it with Mexican cocoa and macaroons for the total taste bonanza!

A New Holiday Fudge

Gingerbread fudge is new to me but it sure sounds appealing. I found it on this site. Let me know how it turns out if you decide to make some yourself!

Learn How Video: July 4th Chocolate Firecracker Dessert Cups

Here’s a video from “The Chocolate Addict” that’s just in time for July Fourth. Looks kind of complicated to me but interesting to watch. Haven’t ever used transfer sheets myself (thin sheets of cocoa butter with printed designs) but they certainly open up a world of candy and cake decorating possibilities. This is part one of a three part video.

Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups vs. Energy Drinks

I read a very interesting and somewhat scary report this morning about the bad effects of the very popular energy drinks, especially about the caloric content. One example was that one RedBull (pictured) had the calorie equivalents of 3.5 Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups (one of my all time favorite candies, but more about that later)!!! [...]

4th of July Candy Ideas Coming In!

Found this recipe for red, white, and blue bark over at this site. Looks easy enough, as long as you use good chocolate, like the Guittard Dark pastilles that I wrote about recently. Be careful of putting them outdoors in heat, they will soften and melt for sure!         Step 1: [...]

Forever Yours Gone Forever

Another old favorite candy bar has been missing lo these many years. Forever Yours was made by Mars to go along with Milky Ways and Snickers, offering a dark chocolate coating instead of the usual milk coating. I didn’t eat it too often, dark chocolate seemed a hard taste to acquire at [...]

Cadbury's Controversial Ad - Campbell
Written by Marv Parker

Cadbury vs. Campbell Update!

News that chocolate lovers can use: A UK watchdog has officially dismissed complaints from Naomi Campbell that Cadbury’s use of her name in a recent advisement was racist, reports the Guardian. The ad for Cadbury’s new Bliss chocolate bar read, “Move over Naomi, there’s a new diva in town,” with the candy bar resting [...]

Goobers – Peanuts and Penises

I have always loved chocolate covered peanuts….. part of a Southern tradition I think since as a kid in N. Georgia peanuts were everywhere. We even grew them in our garden (little known fact: they grow underground). I even remember the stomach aches I got from eating green peanuts. Anyway, early on I found a [...]

National Fudge Day and Elvis

Today (June 16) is National Fudge Day!! I bet you are as surprised as I was to learn that, and I’m supposed to be some kind of candy expert. I’ve already marked it on next year’s calendar so I have a little more lead time. So, you ask, what is the Elvis connection? Well, turns [...]
